A Relaxing Sunday making Tealight Boxes

I've had a lovely quiet Sunday making 24 boxes to hold 4 scented tealights. I am planning to have a stall at my village summer fete this year, so am making a head start on some of the hand crafted gifts I hope to sell in aid of Breast Cancer.

The boxes were made with a piece of base card stock that measures 5 and 7/8th of an inch square. I then used the envelope punch board to punch and score at 2.5 inches and 3.25 inches

Before assembling the boxes I glued a 3 x 3 peice of decorative paper to the centre section and used a die to cut out a circle. I then used a small square of clear acetate to cover the hole and make a window into the box.

I then assembled the boxes, added 4 scented tea lights and completed the decoration with more decorative paper and ribbon. I kept the reverse of the boxes blank and added a candle safety label that I had printed with my blog address on it.

Am really pleased with how they turned out. Happy crafting x

Graphic 45 Time To Flourish Project Sheets

Sometimes I have lots of ideas running through my head and crafting comes easy, but on other occasions I really seem to struggle. When my mojo runs low I turn to the experts on the Graphic 45 blog and create something using their wonderful project sheets. This week has been  very low mojo week, so I downloaded the Time To Flourish project sheets for January, February and March and made the following 6 cards. I love them and plan to make the rest of the years card projects, by the end of the year I will have 24 cards, that I will split into two sets and give away as crafty gifts.

Faux Book Storage Idea from Pinterest

You have probably come to the same conclusion as me: it is impossible to have just a quick look on Pinterest. Anyway whilst having a browse  this weekend I happened upon a link to a video by the amazing Olga Struk:

As I adore finding ideas for storage solutions and Graphic 45, I just had to have a go at making them. I adapted the idea slightly by using Pringles tubes cut in half lengthways to make the curved spine of the faux books. I also made the covers slightly bigger (4.5 inches by 5 inches).

They were so easy to make and now I have homes for a few more crafty supplies. Hope you like them - Happy Crafting.

Graphic 45 - Baby to Bride Collection

It's been far too long since I made any greeting cards, so have had a lovely evening creating two simple cards with the Graphic 45 Baby to Bride Collection that was recently re-released.Whilst the name of the collection lends itself top baby or wedding cards, the collection is versatile enough to be used for any type of greetings card.

I added lace, ribbon, paper roses, twine,wooden embellishments and adhesive pearls and am so happy with how they turned out. Hope you like them too - happy crafting xx

Well its been a busy old week but first I'd like to welcome all our new likers, thank you for liking us here on Facebook and hope it will inspire you to get creating 

Well this is one for all you 'Stamping Up' fans - we've been asked many times recently if we could devise a unit for these types of pads so we've been tweaking one of our ever popular Ink Pad Storage units to hold 32 Stamping Up type Pads. My New Storage for All 60 Tim Holtz Distress Inks

The wonderful guys at Candy Box Crafts have done it again, they have designed a new mdf storage solution that will hold all 60 Tim Holtz Distress Inks. The storage unit can either be sat on a shelf/desk or can be fixed to the wall as there are 2 key holes on the back for screws.The kit comes with easy to follow instructions ....I assembled/glued mine together in a matter of minutes, it is as yet undecorated as I can't decide which Graphic 45 paper and embellishments to decorate it with.

I've attached a picture of my plain one along with a fabulously decorated one that was done by the guys at Candy Box Crafts, using Brushos and some of the amazing Designs By Ryn stamps.

A Gardening Themed Gift Box

 

A birthday gift and card ...

t's a colleague's birthday tomorrow

She really loves her veg/fruit garden and making pickles/chutney's and jam's with the things she grows.With that in mind I decided to get a few little gift items together for her and pop them into a kilner jar that she can use afterwards. 

The colour scheme was based on the colours in the gardening gloves that I purchased first, I then found a packet of sweet pea seeds in similar colours along with some mini bath bombs and some hand cream from my favourite spa, 

I then realised that one of my Graphic 45  12x 12 sheets ((Perfect Petals from the Sweet Sentiments collection) was also in similar colours ... so hey presto a matching card, lined envelope  and gift tag! Hope she likes it as much as I enjoyed putting it all together! Happy Crafting xx

How to line an envelope

Cut a piece of paper just slightly narrower than the width of your envelope, so that you can easily slip it inside

                  Turn the envelope over with the paper in it and draw around the envelope flap.

Cut along the line you have drawn and then remove a small amount from the bottom of the paper.                                    (Approximately the width of the glue strip on the envelope

Slip the paper back into the envelope and glue or tape into place.

(I generally only glue the top section to the flap,)

And there you have it - a lined envelope !

A Trio of MDF Hearts

Did you know that Candy Box Crafts also make a fabulous range of mdf plaques/shapes as well as their mdf kits? Knowing I wont be receiving any Valentines cards this weekend, I decided to have a little play with 3 of their mdf hearts, amd make something just for me.

I covered both sides of the hearts with Kaisercraft paper from the Enchanted Garden collection. Then I used a SU punch and punched out hexagonal pieces from more of the same collection and glued them into place.

I used dots white opal perfect pearls around the edges and added adhesive pearls in a swirly design, I then used a selection of pale pink paper roses to decorate each heart along with some pale pink and white gingham ribbon. I used my Crop A Dile to punch a few extra holes in the hearts and attached them all together with pink bakers twine.
