A Magnolia Moment

I decided to play with one of my Magnolia stamps last night, first time I have done any "colouring in" for ages!

The base card was an 8 x8 from Craftwork Cards. The backgound papers were a mixture of Cosmo Cricket 12 x12's and Dovecraft's Tea House 6 x6's. I also used a Martha Stewart punch to creat the trellis border. I then added a few paper flowers, adhesive pearls and spray pearls to finish off.

Am quite pleased with the finished result.

Stationery Set

This was inspired by the Craftwork Cards Priviledge members project video for June.

It was simply made from pieces of cardboard covered in white & patterned paper.
Includes a strip to hold your postage stamps, a pen holder and a small open pocket which holds all four co-ordinating notelets/cards.

Sunday

I have been making a few cards using the new "Layer Perfect" tool by Cheetah Crafts and I have to say I am very, VERY impressed with it. I can totally understand why it sold out in minutes on Create & Craft, on it's first airing with Barbara Gray

I love the design of the packaging, the simple, easy to follow instructions and the way it feels in your hand (there is a really good weight to it). There are two versions of the tool one in cm and one inches

It is a quality product that is totally brilliant to use ... I can't believe how quick and easy it is to line things up. No more scrapping a card because of wonky edges!
Feel free to click on the link to the Cheetah Crafts website and watch a video of it being demonstrated.

A Fabulous Friday ...

Those of you who have seen me on Facebook, will know I have recently become a fan of Hot Off The Press - mostly because of the wonderful creations posted by Fabrizio Martellucci. Well on Friday I visited another crafty FB friend of mine Pauline Butcher, another amazingly talented crafter ... like myself she has a room dedicated to crafting and I was in awe of the amount of totally beautiful crafting stash she had. Whilst having a thoroughly good mooch Pauline came across a HOTP Floral cardmakers pack that she said she would not use, so the next thing I knew she had given it to me!  They are just my kind of papers, so using the sketch ideas that come in the pack I made the two cards shown above. I even decorated the inside of the cards - something I haven't really done before. Am chuffed to pieces with the results - so big hugs and a thank you to the lovely Pauline xx

And the Winner Is:

The winner of my blog candi chosen at random is Trudi - congratulations!I will be in touch shortly to get your address, so that I can post your goodies out to you. A big thank you to everyone who has followed me and left such lovely comments, they are much appreciated.

Hope you all have a really crafty Sunday x

Papermania-maniac!

8 x 8

6 x 6

8 x 8

Very occasionally, I like to make a card or two that I don't have to think about too much. This new papermania "Lucy Cromwell" collection is perfect for when my crafting mojo is running low. Beautiful papers and die cut toppers that could not be more simple to put together. I did however muster up a little energy to add a touch of Star Dust Stickles and the odd adhesive pearl here and there.

I'm On A Mission ....

... to use up some of my old crafting stash. I have been sorting out all my Craftwork Cards stash today and decided I had to use some of it up. So I made this very simple 6 x 6 card which was inspired by a Craftwork cards sketch.

The flower bowl was made by using a Labels 25 nestability and cutting a third off it. The remaining two thirds then became a bowl! Simples!!

My Precious ........ lol

I used another 12 x12 sheet of my precious DCWV Mariposa card stack to make this 8 x 8 Z-fold card. Nothing that clever about it, once again just a spot of matting & layering with the addition of some ribbon, some adhesive gems and some gold stickles.

I must stop stroking my card & paper!

Much as I would have liked to have done 10 post last night, I ran out of both time and energy! As mentioned in other posts I am making a conserted effort to use up some of the card and paper stock that I have only previously stroked. This 12 x 12 pack by DCWV  (Mariposa) is one that I have stroked the most as the images are truly luscious!

So after taking a deep breath I tore out another page and cut into it - the three cards all came from one 12 x12 sheet. The paper was already so gorgeous, I didn't really need do much except mat & layer it, then add a bit of ribbon - just goes to show that card making does not need to be difficult!

My First Ever Blog Candi!

In order to celebrate the fact that I have re-discovered the art of blogging, and to encourage a few more of you to follow my blog. I thought it might be nice to give a few little crafty items away as a prize/incentive.

My dream would be to reach 100 followers ... but we will see what happens! lol

All you have to do is become a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post by no later than Friday 15th June 2012. I will then select someone at random to receive the items shown in the photo (may add a few more little surprises too!)

Good Luck xx

A raid on my old stash

Like many of you, I buy things with good intentions and then years later discover items lurking in the bottom of drawers or in boxes! This year I have been on a mission to have a thorough sort out and use things up.

These 5x5 cards were made with some felt papermania butterflies that I recently re-discovered.

A skeleton leaf challenge

I go to a crop on the first Sunday of the month at Bee Crafty in Bidford upon Avon. Back in May a few of us were set a challenge to make something using skeleton leaves - like many people I bought them years ago and had never used them! This is what I came up with - it's fairly simple compared to what everyone else came up with last week, but I was happy with it!

ATC & Card for May

I have joined a small ATC swap group and the theme for May's ATC was angels - this was the ATC and card I came up with.

Meadowsweet - by August Moon

Another sheet of special paper used up! This time it is a sheet of Meadowsweet by August Moon.
The hydranger was cut out and decouaged onto the reverse of the paper (one side with piccie and diamonds ... the other is spots) and pale blue stickles was added along with some lace and a co-ordinating tag.

Prima Papers

I am on a serious mission to start using some of my papers instead of just sitting  & stroking them! These papers are from the Prima Madeline Collection.

Just a spot of simple matting & layering with the addition of some gold stickles and a couple of gold butterflies cut with a Memory Box die.

Black & Cream ... Again

This card was made for a monotone challenge on a Facebook page called Aly's Crafty Den. A sketch was provided and I used some beautiful DCWV La Creme cardstock and a mixture of Spellbinder and Memory Box dies

You can't tell from the photo but the black floral cardstock is actually flocked.

Diamond Wedding Cards

It was the Harvington Village fete on the 2nd June 2012, so I decided to enter one of the craft competitions. The theme for the card making competition was Diamond Wedding, these were my 4 entries and won 1st & 2nd place for two of them.

The papers are by SEI and the dies were a mixture of Spellbinders and Memory Box.

Forgive me father for I have sinned ... I have not blogged since January!

It has been way too long since I blogged so am going to try and catch up with a few of the many cards I have created this year. There won't be a lot of text, but I hope to be able to upload lots of pictures.

This one is a simple 8x8 Z-card, made using some gorgeous cardstock from the DCWV Mariposa collection. Am trying to use up some of my crafty stash instead of just stroking it! lol
