Gated Box for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Lots of you are probably aware that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month but what you may not know is that the Breast Cancer Care charity is the charity closest to my heart as I lost my mum to the disease in 2004. I try to raise money for the charity through sales of my greetings cards and crafty projects.

So having been given a few of the wonderful MDF creations  to play with by Candy Box Crafts. I thought I would decorate another gated box in memory of my mum and to help  raise awareness..

The box was painted in "Nougat" paint by Fresco and then decorated in a selection of papers from Bo Bunny. Each of the nine compartments was then filled with things that reminded me of my mum. The gates were also painted in the same paint and then covered in Stampendous Shaved Ice.

Thanks again to Roy and Steve of Candy box Crafts for letting me play with your amazing MDF creations. All of which can be purchased from Pink Tulip Creations in Spernal Ash nr Studley in Warwickshire. Direct links to both Candy Box Crafts and Pink Tulip can be found to the right of my blog.

Happy crafting and ladies don't forget -get your boobies checked regularly ... the earlier something is found, the better chance you have of a full recovery xx

Bert & Gert's - Ready, Steady Go - Passport Holder

I was inspired by a recent blog post by Jim the fabulous "Gentleman Crafter, where he made several passport, ticket and credit card wallets for his friends. So I just had to have a go myself and I decorated it in lots of stamped images from the fabulous "Mod" stamp collection from Bert & Gert's (click on the image to the right of this post and it will take you to the Bert & Gert's website)

Jim very kindly put an instruction sheet together for the wallets and here is the link: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Byw1jq858UATcEFwbDBQcUlZVDA/edit?usp=sharing

I used a selection of Teresa Collins papers to cover my chipboard wallet and then punched out the fab Bert & Gert stamped images with a circle punch. I used several small (strong) magnets to close the various pockets and flaps and I will admit I do like to hear the snap of the magnets as they close!.
Hope you like it - happy crafting
