A Trio of MDF Hearts

Did you know that Candy Box Crafts also make a fabulous range of mdf plaques/shapes as well as their mdf kits? Knowing I wont be receiving any Valentines cards this weekend, I decided to have a little play with 3 of their mdf hearts, amd make something just for me.

I covered both sides of the hearts with Kaisercraft paper from the Enchanted Garden collection. Then I used a SU punch and punched out hexagonal pieces from more of the same collection and glued them into place.

I used dots white opal perfect pearls around the edges and added adhesive pearls in a swirly design, I then used a selection of pale pink paper roses to decorate each heart along with some pale pink and white gingham ribbon. I used my Crop A Dile to punch a few extra holes in the hearts and attached them all together with pink bakers twine.

Candy Box Crafts - A Little Boxette of Love

As you all know I am lucky enough to be on the DT for Candy Box Crafts, and whilst it is very hard to choose my favourite mdf item I do seem to favour the ones that can be used for storage. The boxette is the perfect example, it is made from 3mm mdf and comes in an easy to assemble slot and tab kit, The boxette can be used to hold, tags, cards, precious items or even chocolate!

This one has been decorated with Valentines Day in mind. The main paper used is "Bouquet" from Kaisercraft's "On This Day" collection, with the bouquet wrap, envelope and note being made from parts of another sheet from the same collection called "Proposal", I added a dozen red paper roses, a felt heart, a heart padlock and ornate key, ribbon and a few adhesive gems. Hope you like it xx

New Year - New Crafty Challenge

Believe it or not, one thing form of crafting I have never tried is scrapbooking. So as this is the year I want to expand my crafting skills and knowledge I thought I would give it a go.

One of my lovely facebook pals Heather Bee kindly posted a layout suggestion in one of the groups I belong to .... and with a photo of my gorgeous new nephew Alfie Joseph Gill this is what I came up with:

The background paper is "Lovestruck" from the True romance Collection by Kaisercraft. I used a nesting heart dies by Little B and a floral heart die by Memory Box  to cut the hearts from red bazzil basic cardstock and a black scripted paper by Kaisercraft. I used a fancy tag die by Spellbinders to  cut the tag out of black cardstock and added  my nephews name and date of birth. I also added a couple of adhesive felt hearts and some adhesive red rhinestones. Not bad for my first attempt, eh!

Kaisercraft - Curiosity Collection

I have had a really lovely afternoon sat in my teeny tiny box room surrounded by beautiful sheets of 12 x12 paper from Kaisercraft's Curiosity collection. I can't take all the credit for four of the cards as they were inspired by some cards I saw in one of the Kaisercraft workshop ideas magazines from last year.

I absolutely adore this paper collection and love how the cards have turned out. I fussy cut sections of the paper and matted and layered the pieces using 3d foam. I did have a small conundrum though, I didn't have any rust colored card stock to mat my creations onto, so I took a Spice colored Promarker and made my own! (Am really pleased with myself! lol)

Anyway here are a few piccies, hope you like them xx

Marion Smith - Napkin Rings & Coasters

Hello All,

I am supposed to be sorting and tidying my craft stash, but I keep getting distracted by all the things I  keep finding. I came across about 40 empty TP tubes - all nicely folded flat ready for converting into mini albums, then I came across a bag of un-flattened ones - well I just had to make something didn't I... lol

I cut one of the TP tubes in half and then chose a beautiful sheet of Marion Smiths 12 x 12 paper - Roses R Red, from the Mad Tea Party collection. I cut a strip of paper approx half an inch wider than the width of the tube and glued it onto the outside of the roll. I then cut another strip of paper slightly smaller than the tube and glued that to the inside. I then found an off cut of cream lace and glued that around the centre of the tube for decoration and added a small cream ribbon bow.

I then came across some charity coasters (you know the ones that are sent through the post by the Red Cross). The pictures on them were not very inspiring so I cuta small square from the same paper, trimmed the corner with my corner rounder and glued them into place. I then used a couple of my Kaisercraft quote stamps and stamped in black Versafine ink on the reverse of the paper that I had left. I trimmed the quotes down and distressed the edges of the quotes and the coasters with Vintage photo distress ink. I then simply glued the quote onto the coaster. Such and easy project to do, but so satisfying.

Kaisercraft Art Of Life - Pocket Watch Album

After days and days of seeing beautiful teaser photos on the Jones Crafts and Pink Tulip facebook pages, I was very excited to finally purchase one of the beautiful new Kaisercraft collections called "Art of Life".

These new Kaisercraft papers are absolutely stunning,  I loved them so much I had to craft with them straight away. So I rummaged through my crafty stash and came across a fun Want to Scrap 7.5 x7.5 inch chipboard album blank in the shape of a pocket watch.

After almost a whole day of embossing, cutting, punching, gluing and decorating I have ended up with this fun mini album, hope you like it as much as I do.

Eighteen Christmas Cards from Two Sheets of Kaisercraft 12 x12

I am still on my mission to use up my large stash of 12 x12 Christmas papers and came across two sheets of "Snowflake" from the Just Believe collection by Kaisercraft. I have made eighteen quick and simple Christmas cards. These 12 x12 sheets cost less than a pound each, so a great way of making lovely cards if you are on a budget or are short on time.
