If money is tight this Christmas, how about making a few inexpensive hand made gifts, such as a decorated notebook, a small wall calendar and a credit card sized calendar?
I bought a pack of ten 2014 calendars for £1, and a pack of 5 mini notebooks also for £1.00. So with the addition of a few scraps of paper and cord from my crafty stash I made all three items shown below for 40p!
The notebook was the easiest to make: simply cut a piece of card or paper to cover the front of the notebook and glue into place. Embellish with whatever you like. I chose the anchor from the Bert & Gert's Hearts Of Oak collection. I stamped it onto white card stock with Nautical Blue ink from Memento and added glossy accents to highlight it. This was then matted and layered onto a punch scalloped circle and added to the centre of the card.
The mini wall calendar was made with a piece of 3 x 3 Grunge board that was covered with white card stock and scraps of a nautical paper from my stash. I used the flag stamps from the same Bert & Gert's stamp set and coloured them with Promarkers to match the paper. I added the 2014 calendar and then glued some white cord around the edge. I tied a fancy sea knot with the same cord and glued that into place.

The final item is another calendar, but this time it was made to be the same size as a credit card so that it can slip into a purse or wallet. I kept the nautical theme going by using the same papers and corded knot. I also used another Bert & Gert's stamp.
Three very simple ideas for gifts on a budget, which can be easily personalised for each recipient. Hope you like them - Happy Crafting xx
