A touch of cream .. A touch of black

‎2nd card of the day, very simple 8 x 8 in black & cream - again used some of my American Crafts ribbon, some of the bumper stash of adhesive gems I have and a craftwork cards message. I do love this style of card as you can use up the smallest pieces of card/paper and have loads of fun with each square ... should add that this card is a true "stroker" as many of the pieces are flocked!

Tattered Flowers ...

After spending the past few days sorting my crafty stash I actually made something today!!!! I used a small piece of the American Crafts Ribbon, Craftwork cards Candi, Prima flowers and some TH die-cut tattered flowers which were sent to me by a fabulous FB friend. It's the first time I've used die-cuts by TH and must say I am quite looking forward to seeing what he brings with him next month!  Now going to raid my bookshelf to see which of my books I can sacrifice for more die-cutting!

My Heart ....

I wanted to experiment with a simple Valentines day card. I didn't want to go for traditional pinks and reds or the word "Love". I wanted to make it a little bit more masculine so that a man might not feel too embarrassed to have it on display!

I started by die-cutting a heart out of a piece of paper from the Metalica range by Kanban. I then glued that onto a peice of brown card and cut around it very carefully. I used two distress inks around the edge - Wild Honey and Pumice Stone - to give it a little depth.

I peirced a small hole at the top and threaded a thin piece of brown satin ribbon throught the hole. I then added a small padlock and heart (by Prima) and tied the ribbon into a bow.

The heart was them matted onto a piece of ribbed kraft card and anothe piece of brown card stock. Finally it was all matted onto a 6 x6 white card blank. and a small sentiment added. Am really pleased with the result.

First Two Cards of 2012

My aim for January is to make all the cards for friends and family birthdays and anniversaries in advance.

Here are the first two made with a vintage car theme. The papers used were from: Bo Bunny Timepeice collection, Kanban Metalica collection and a sheet of 12 x12 with vintage cars on it - so sorry can't remember the make.

On the first one I made a pocket on the front of the card to house a tag which I also made. The pocket was then edged in Candi by Craftwork Cards.

The second card was just a simple folded card which was covered using the reverse of the vintage cars paper matted onto gold mirror card on the inside, and four of the vintage cars on the outside.

Happy New Year everyone x

Ho! Ho! Ho!

My youngest brother and his wife have a pink and green theme running through their trendy apartment., so I thought I would attempt to make a Christmas card in keeping with their chosen colour scheme.

I took 5 basic square cards and trimmed them down to be 4.5 inches square. I then glued the cards together concertina style,

I used strips of pink and green card to make the letter "H"  and some old snowflake circles (re-cycled from an old Xmas card) matted onto die-cut scalloped circles to make the "O"'s.

I added a few die-cut snowflakes, using a couple of sets of Marianne design dies and finished off with a few adhesive gems - you have to have a bit of bling at Christmas!

I am really pleased with the card and think it will go perfectly with their decor.

Final card made for my neighbours ....

I have had a lovely day making cards for my lovely neighbours - this is the final one.

The baubles were made by cutting strips of paper 1.5 inches by 12 inches. I then used the cm side of my scoreboard to score lines at half a cm intervals all the way along the strips. Then I sat and patiently folded the paper concertina style. I attached two strips together and formed the rosette/bauble.

I underestimated how long these would take  to make (took ages! lol) so hope my neighbour appreciates it!.

4th card of the day

I have made this one for the young couple who live over the road .... the paper is "Everyone Loves Christmas by Bella Road. The paper is double sided - with the (green)  reverse being used  on the tag. The tag was made from ribbed kraft card, I used my corner rounder to trim the edges and added a small wooden reindeer and a few adhesive gems. Love the colours in this 8 x8 card, really cheery and christmassy I think.

Under Pressure .... lol

I am making cards for family and special friends this weekend, so thought I would make a start on the cards for my neighbours - have five to make and have finished 3 so far .... the papers were from a 12 x 12 collection by K & Co (I think?) a few years back.  I thought it was about time I used some of the papers! lol

Hope you like them, hopefully there will be more posts throughout the weekend! Have so many to make .... why have I left it so late!!!! lol
